Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 11, 2025

Abel Yiyi Hancco Soncco, doing business as "SpeakPhonic" ("we," "us," or "our") operates the SpeakPhonic - AI Pronunciation mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our App and related services ("Services").

By accessing or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Services. You are not legally required to provide personal information to use basic App functionality.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Authentication Information

We use Firebase Authentication solely to obtain user credentials for accessing Firebase services. We do not create, maintain, or manage separate user accounts. When you authenticate via Google or Apple Sign-In, Firebase may collect your display name and profile photo for identification purposes within the App interface.

1.2 Voice Data Processing

Voice recordings of your pronunciation practice sessions are processed temporarily using Google's Gemini Flash 2.0 AI service. These recordings are transmitted securely to Google's servers, analyzed in real-time for pronunciation feedback, and automatically deleted when you close the App session. Google may retain anonymized, aggregated data for AI model improvement purposes, but we do not store or have access to your voice recordings.

1.3 Device and Technical Information

We automatically collect device model, operating system version, IP address, general location information at country or region level, App usage data, session duration, feature interactions, and network connection information to ensure proper App functionality and performance.

1.4 Analytics and Performance Data

We collect App performance metrics, crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics, usage analytics through Firebase Analytics to understand feature interactions, error logs, and debugging information for service improvement purposes.

1.5 Transaction Information

Purchase history and transaction details for credit purchases are processed via RevenueCat using anonymous identifiers. Credit balances and usage patterns are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

2. Local Data Storage and Credit Management

Credits purchased are stored exclusively on your device using secure local storage mechanisms. We do not maintain server-side backups or synchronization of credit balances. Credits remain tied to the specific device where they were acquired and cannot be transferred, synchronized, or recovered across different devices or authentication accounts.

This local storage approach means that changing devices, switching authentication methods, or losing device access will result in permanent loss of credit balances, as we have no server-side records to restore from.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your personal information for providing pronunciation analysis and feedback, maintaining and improving our Services, processing purchases through third-party payment systems, providing customer support, ensuring security and preventing fraud, sending service-related communications, and complying with legal obligations.

All voice data processing occurs through Google's Gemini Flash 2.0 service and automatically deleted when you close the App session. Authentication data is used solely for Firebase service access. Analytics data helps us understand App performance and user interaction patterns to improve functionality.

4. Information Sharing and Third-Party Services

4.1 Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party service providers who assist in operating our Services. Google Firebase provides authentication services, analytics, and crash reporting with data processing in the United States and Ireland. Google Gemini AI processes voice recordings for pronunciation analysis with automatically deleted when you close the App session. RevenueCat manages in-app purchase processing with data processing in the United States.

4.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, including compliance with court orders, protection of our legal rights, prevention of fraud or illegal activities, and protection of user safety and security.

4.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to the same privacy protections outlined in this Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention and Account Deletion

Voice recordings are deleted automatically when you close the App session. Authentication information is retained until account deletion or upon request. Anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely for service improvement. Purchase transaction records are retained for seven years as required by financial and tax regulations. Crash reports are retained for 90 days via Firebase Crashlytics.

You may delete your account through the App settings menu or by contacting us at speakphonic@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." In-app deletions are processed immediately upon confirmation, while email requests are processed within forty-eight hours of receipt. Complete data removal from all systems occurs within thirty days.

Upon account deletion, we delete personal authentication information and App preferences settings. We retain anonymized, aggregated analytics data that cannot be linked to your identity, purchase records in compliance with financial regulations for seven years, and essential business records as required by law.

Important Credit Forfeiture Notice

Upon account deletion, all unused credits stored locally on your device are permanently forfeited without compensation or refund. Since credits are stored locally rather than on our servers, we cannot restore or transfer credits after account deletion. This forfeiture policy is consistent with Apple App Store Guidelines and Google Play policies for consumable in-app purchases.

6. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in the United States, Ireland, and other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by relevant authorities and adequacy decisions where applicable. By using our Services, you acknowledge and consent to the international transfer of your information.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmissions, limited access controls to personal information on a need-to-know basis, regular security audits of our practices, and utilization of Google Cloud's enterprise-grade security infrastructure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and while we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
